Bandoeng ’22 Pandan Liqueur｜ Other Products

Pandan is Southeast Asia's answer to vanilla — a fragrant tropical leaf that flavors desserts, rice, and drinks across Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia with a nutty, floral, faintly grassy sweetness, and stains everything it touches a vivid green. Bandoeng '22 is the world's first pandan liqueur, a Dutch-Indonesian creation launched in 2019 through a crowdfunding campaign in the Netherlands, made from fresh pandan leaves infused with a blend of Indonesian spices: nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, and clove. The name honors Bandung, the West Java city nicknamed "Paris van Java" for its Art Deco architecture and roaring-twenties cocktail culture — and the 22 doubles as the ABV. It's all-natural, vegan, gluten-free, with no artificial coloring. Tastings.com scored it 92 points, finding almond cookie, orange zest, caramel, ginger, and vanilla with a long finish of pandan, brown sugar, coconut, and cinnamon; it also took Double Gold at the 2024 Bartender Spirits Awards. Expect fresh pandan, nutmeg, cocoa, and roasted hazelnut on the nose, moving into vanilla, coconut cream, almond, and buttery pastry, finishing floral with marshmallow and gentle spice. It pairs with nearly any base spirit — a Pandan Espresso Martini, a Pandan Colada, a Bandoeng Mule with ginger beer, or splashed into an iced latte. Bartenders love it. Genuinely unlike anything else on the shelf.
