Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve Japanese Whisky is the no-age-statement single malt from Suntory's Yamazaki distillery, Japan's first malt whisky distillery, founded in 1923 near Kyoto. The blend of casks includes malts aged in Bordeaux red wine barrels, sherry casks and rare Japanese mizunara oak, married by the chief blender and bottled at 43% ABV.The nose is ripe red berries and strawberry with fragrant florals and a subtle touch of mizunara sandalwood. The palate offers honey sweetness, cinnamon and a gentle, uniquely Japanese-oak spiciness, and the finish is velvety and lingering. It sips beautifully neat and makes a superb highball. With Yamazaki 12 hard to find, this 750ml Distiller's Reserve is the accessible way to put the distillery's signature style in your glass.
