Not your little box-store celosia, Celosia argentea ‘Sunday Wine Red’ is a tall, garden-worthy cut flower variety bred for serious color, texture, and vase life. Reaching about 3' tall and 30" wide, it produces elegant feathery plumes in rich wine-red tones that bring drama and depth to summer and fall plantings.
Also known as plume celosia or cockscomb, ‘Sunday Wine Red’ is fabulous in cutting gardens, cottage borders, bold annual beds, and large containers. The upright blooms are long-lasting in bouquets and add gorgeous texture to fresh or dried arrangements. Plant it with amaranth, zinnias, cosmos, gomphrena, sunflowers, ornamental grasses, and dark foliage for a lush, harvest-season palette.
Plant Celosia argentea ‘Sunday Wine Red’ in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and regular water. Heat-loving and fast-growing, it performs best when given room, warmth, and good soil. Velvety, architectural, and wonderfully bouquet-worthy, this celosia is a standout for gardeners who love rich color. Explore more summer bloomers in our Annuals collection.
