Minke Irish Gin comes from Clonakilty Distillery on the coast of West Cork, Ireland, and is named for the minke whales that swim off the shore. It is unusual in two ways: the base spirit is distilled from whey, a by-product of the local dairy industry, and the botanicals include rock samphire foraged from the Atlantic cliffs near the distillery, alongside juniper and citrus. It is bottled at 43.2% ABV (86.4 proof). The result is a coastal Irish gin with orange citrus and juniper pine up front, lavender, anise and pepper in the middle, and a faintly saline, herbal edge from the samphire. Drink it with a premium tonic and a twist of orange, or in a Negroni where the spice and citrus can stand up to the vermouth. At this price it is one of the most affordable ways to try a genuinely different Irish craft gin.Buy Minke Irish Gin online with fast shipping right to your door.
