A Fresh Selection｜Clear Creek Apple Brandy 8 Year Old｜ Other Products

Oregon's answer to Calvados — and a bottle that holds its own against the finest Norman expressions without apology. Clear Creek Reserve Apple Brandy 8 Year is made using Yakima Valley Golden Delicious apples, crushed and fermented whole, then distilled and aged in used and new Limousin oak barrels for a minimum of 8 years. The result is one of the most accomplished American fruit brandies ever produced. This Apple Brandy is as good as any Norman Calvados — made in the same manner from fresh apples and aged 8 years in French oak casks — a perfect after-dinner drink, actually recommended after a big feast. The nose is distinctly apple and oak with autumnal character — one of the most "autumnal" drams you'll come across, while the nose delivers aromas of baked apple, vanilla, caramel, and oak, and the palate is rich and velvety with stewed apple, toffee, spice, and subtle nuttiness, finishing with a tannic dryness that's exactly right for a brandy of this caliber. The oak influence is well-balanced and the taste is light yet refreshing — well worth the price. Sip neat after dinner or use in place of Calvados in any recipe or cocktail.
