Acer palmatum 'Oregon Sunset' is a compact deciduous shrub, typically reaching a height of around 1.5 metres and a spread of 2 metres. It has an upright, spreading habit, with deeply lobed leaves that emerge a vibrant red in spring, maturing to shades of olive green and plum in summer. In autumn, the foliage turns back to red, providing striking seasonal colour year-round. This small Japanese maple thrives in moist but well-drained soils and is best suited to a position in full sun to partial shade.
