The Personal Edit｜ Other Products ｜McConnell's Irish Whiskey

McConnell's Irish Whiskey revives a Belfast brand founded in 1776 by the McConnell brothers, whose distillery was one of the city's largest before Prohibition and war shut it down. The modern McConnell's is a five-year-old blend of malt and grain whiskeys matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 42% ABV, with a new distillery now operating in Belfast's historic Crumlin Road Gaol. The five years in bourbon wood give it vanilla, honey and light toffee on the nose, a smooth palate of orchard fruit, cereal sweetness and gentle oak, and a clean, slightly spicy finish. It is a step up from mass-market Irish blends in weight and character, and it works neat, over ice, or in a whiskey ginger. This 750ml bottle is a well-priced Northern Irish whiskey with real history behind the label.
