Osuzuyama Distillery Osuzu Gin comes from Kuroki Honten's Osuzuyama Distillery in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, where all the raw ingredients are grown on the distillery's own 40-plus hectares, yeast is cultivated in-house and fermentation happens in cedar vats. The base spirit is the distillery's Yamaneko sweet potato shochu, distilled with eight botanicals: kumquat, hyuganatsu and yuzu citrus, sakaki wood, ginger, juniper, sansho pepper and shiitake mushroom for umami. It is bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof) in a 700ml bottle.Nomunication rated it a B+, describing lemon, yuzu and sweet citrus with sansho, spice and plenty of greenery on the nose, a forest-and-wood palate with umami depth that is smooth for its proof, and a fresh citrus finish with juniper and spice. The reviewer found it pairs beautifully with tonic, and it is equally good in a highball or neat. A true farm-to-bottle Japanese gin.Buy Osuzuyama Distillery Osuzu Gin online with fast shipping right to your door.
