Signature｜Hazelburn 7 Year Oloroso Cask Matured Scotch Whisky｜ Other Products

Hazelburn is the softest, most elegant of the three whiskies made at Springbank Distillery — triple-distilled and completely unpeated, unlike Springbank itself or the heavily peated Longrow — and this annual Oloroso release has become one of Campbeltown's most anticipated yearly bottlings. The 2026 edition is fully matured for 7 years in Oloroso sherry casks — not merely finished in them — and bottled at 47.9% ABV, limited to 9,000 bottles worldwide. Full maturation is what gives a relatively young whisky this much body: the clean, creamy, fruit-forward Hazelburn spirit picks up a genuinely dark sherry layer without losing itself underneath. Springbank's own notes describe maraschino cherries, fudge, treacle, dates, and brandy butter on the nose, moving into brown sugar, ginger, raisins, and redcurrant jelly, finishing on sticky toffee pudding, blackcurrant, herbs, and tarragon. Reviewers consistently note the balance — clear sherry influence with a light herbal freshness that keeps it from becoming a one-note sherry bomb, and previous releases in this series hold strong Whiskybase community scores in the high 80s. Best neat in a nosing glass with a few minutes to open; a few drops of water bring out red berries and toffee. Pairs beautifully with dark chocolate or date cake.
