Haystack Needle 8 Year Single Barrel is a single barrel of Redwood Empire's own grain-to-glass distillate — eight years old, uncut at 123.2 proof — from a distillery that fills only four barrels a day. Redwood Empire sits in Graton, Sonoma County, in the redwoods west of Santa Rosa, run by Purple Brands with master distiller Jeff Duckhorn, and plants a tree for every bottle sold; Haystack Needle is the house's showcase label, and the 8 Year Single Barrel is the first of the distillery's own Graton bourbon to reach that age — one barrel, distilled and aged on site, bottled without dilution at 123.2 proof. The house line: with four barrels a day, the distillery has an intimate relationship with every one, and Haystack Needle is the truest expression of its distillation philosophy. Expect the Grizzly Beast profile — peach, apricot, black tea, honey — with three more years of Sonoma-climate oak and full barrel proof behind it: a denser nose of dried stone fruit, caramel, and toasted oak, a big, fruit-and-spice palate with real body, and a long, warm, tannic finish. Honest note: eight-year cask-strength California bourbon from a single barrel is a genuine rarity — for the West Coast whiskey collector and the drinker who wants to taste what Sonoma does to bourbon over eight years; and you're buying a tree. Neat, water, time. Haystack Needle, eight years, one barrel.Buy Redwood Empire Haystack Needle 8 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
