Sunnyslope is a stretch of the Snake River Valley in southwest Idaho where the volcanic soil and long, hot days grow some of the finest stone fruit in the West — and 44 North's Nectarine vodka is built on fruit from those orchards. Named for the latitude that runs through Idaho, the brand launched in 2005 at the Distilled Resources distillery in Rigby, and it's the first vodka approved to carry the Idaho Potato Commission's official seal. This expression starts with the flagship potato vodka — 100% Idaho Burbank and Russet potatoes, five-column distilled, blended with Rocky Mountain water from the Snake River Aquifer — infused with all-natural Sunnyslope nectarines and bottled at 35% ABV. Naturally gluten-free. Where the brand's Mountain Huckleberry is tart and wild, Nectarine is sunny and juicy: expect a fragrant nose of ripe nectarine with the fruit's characteristic floral, slightly tangy edge, opening into a soft, creamy palate where the potato base's roundness carries the stone fruit, the sweetness reading as ripe fruit rather than syrup, finishing clean and refreshing. Honest note: it's a flavored vodka at 70 proof, and purists should reach for the potato original; it's also harder to find than the huckleberry outside the Northwest, which makes it a small score. Built for a Nectarine Bellini with sparkling wine, a stone-fruit Mule, an iced tea spike, a nectarine vodka soda with lime, or a Sunnyslope Martini.
