The Throttle Valve Delete for 2007.5–2024 Ram 6.7 Cummins is the part most owners forget — until the engine chokes, loses power, or shuts down at high RPM. If you've already deleted the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system, the factory throttle valve is now a liability sitting in your intake tract.Here's how the stock setup works: the throttle valve opens and closes to adjust the ratio of fresh intake air to recirculated exhaust gas. With the EGR in place, that makes sense. With it deleted, there's no reason for the valve — but it's still there and still capable of closing. Your delete tune codes out its operation and the actuator gets left unplugged, and most of the time that's fine. But the valve can still move on its own and partially or fully close off your air supply. At highway speed or under load, that can shut the engine down entirely or cause catastrophic damage at higher RPM.
