Rubinia is a six-year-old aged grappa from Distilleria Gualco, a family distillery in Silvano d'Orba, Piedmont, that has been distilling grappa with traditional direct-fire copper stills since 1870. Made from the pomace of Piedmont red grapes, it is aged for six years in oak barrels, which give it a deep ruby-amber color (rubinia) and a refined, rounded character. Bottled at 42% ABV in a 750ml bottle.The taste is a harmonious blend of floral and fruity notes, dried cherry and plum, with subtle oak undertones of vanilla and spice and a smooth, sophisticated finish.
