Other Products ｜Japanese Breakfast: Psychopomp (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP - Turntable Lab Exclusive - LIMIT 1 PER CUSTOMER

Lab exclusivo! Unlike many of the current indie crop’s indier-than-indie debuts, Michelle Zauner sounds fully formed on Psychopomp, humbly released in 2016 by tiny indie shop Yellow K Records (Frostburg, Maryland!) Zauner presents a deck full of wildcards, her songwriting catalog already swole with heat before quitting her day job; from the lush and synth-powered “The Woman That Loves You” with its DX7 bass and soaring power pop chorus, to the rustic and twangy “Rugged Country” or the baroque atmospheric “Jame Cum” sounding like Kate Bush jamming with Slowdive. “Triple 7” hints at the harmonic allure of her subsequent records and “Heft” foreshadows the catchiness. The origin story of one of the best currently doing it. TTL exclusive edition of 600 on metallic blue vinyl, recommended.
