Retro｜Bardstown Bourbon Company Collaborative Series Amaro Nonino｜ Other Products

Amaro Nonino is the amaro that made the Paper Plane famous — a grappa-based, orange-scented Friulian liqueur aged in oak, beloved by bartenders worldwide — and Bardstown Bourbon Company put whiskey in its barrels. This Collaborative Series release, out late 2023, is a blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskeys finished for 17 months in barrels that previously held Amaro Nonino Reserva. Paste Magazine called it possibly the most unique entry in a series that has dabbled in seemingly every barrel imaginable, and noted that despite the constant chase for novelty, most of these bottles are pretty excellent — this one certainly. Bourbon Obsessed found the amaro's flavors displayed in a very complementary way: a delicious whiskey where the bittersweet orange, gentian, and caramelized herbal character of the Nonino cask wraps around the bourbon's caramel and the rye's spice without overwhelming either. Expect a nose of candied orange peel, honey, baking spice, and a faint herbal bitterness over Kentucky vanilla and oak, opening into a rich, layered palate where bitter orange, saffron-like warmth, and gentle botanical notes meet caramel, rye pepper, and toasted wood, finishing long with a pleasant amaro-tinged bitterness that lingers. From the Kentucky distillery whose Collaborative Series celebrates the art of finishing by borrowing barrels from the best in beer, wine, and spirits. It's a bottle that makes its own cocktail: sip it neat, or build the simplest Paper Plane riff there is.Buy Bardstown Bourbon Company Collaborative Series Amaro Nonino online with fast shipping right to your door.
