The Epiphone J-45™ Standard brings Gibson’s legendary “Workhorse” acoustic to players everywhere, faithfully recreating one of the most iconic guitars in history. First introduced in 1942, the Gibson J-45 became famous for its warm bass, balanced mids, and outstanding projection—qualities that made it the best-selling acoustic in Gibson’s lineup. The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson® J-45 Standard carries on this legacy with all-solid woods, premium hardware, and modern stage-ready electronics at a price accessible to today’s players.
Crafted with a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, the J-45 Standard delivers the classic tonal recipe that made this round-shoulder dreadnought a favorite across genres for decades. The one-piece mahogany neck features a comfortable Rounded C profile, paired with a rosewood fingerboard adorned with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. Whether strumming chords or playing intricate fingerstyle, this guitar responds with warmth, clarity, and dynamic range.
Premium appointments include a bone nut and saddle, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners, a rosewood belly-up bridge, and a tortoise shell-style teardrop pickguard. For live performance and recording, the Fishman® Presys VT under-saddle pickup and discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls deliver natural, stage-ready amplified sound. Complete with a premium gig bag, the Epiphone J-45 Standard is ready to become your new “Workhorse.”
