Item# D-143Antique suit of armor Edo Shogun period w/ Tokubetsu-Kicho Certificate
A quality antique armor from mid Edo period (1600-1800s). Whole suit of armor is finished with beaten gold lacquer. The cuirass consists of 2 divided iron plates finished with Honkozane hand-spliced small iron pieces and hair-spread multiple colors braid lacings. Kabuto helmet is composed of 62 separate iron plates, each with its own specific proportions. When joined, they result in the perfectly formed kabuto seen here. Kabuto also features extremely beautiful and detailed brass header decoration designed with Shikami "Japanese ancient monster"A certificate comes with this item. The Tokubetsu Kicho paper certificates granted by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. Storage boxes, display stand(new), and all pieces shown in the catalogue come with.
