Product description
Black 4.0 is the darkest, blackest black acrylic paint, made by artists for artists.
This premium matte super black absorbs at least 99% of light, delivering exceptional coverage, deep pigment density, and a flat, velvety finish.
Created by British artist Stuart Semple, it has become one of the most widely discussed art materials in the world and is frequently featured across global media.
Stuart Semple's full range of art materials is known for being playful and provocative, challenging colour exclusivity across industries. His well known dispute with Anish Kapoor began when Kapoor secured exclusive rights to Vantablack, the ultra black material that sparked a wider discussion around ownership and monopolising colour.
In response, Semple developed the Blackest Black for everyone else. It's since been refined into Black 4.0, the most advanced version available and widely known as a ‘void in a bottle’.
