Bedford Park is a Toronto-based independent bottler that has become one of the most exciting names in North American rum — selecting single casks from distilleries like Hampden, Foursquare, and Caroni, bottling them at cask strength with no additives or chill filtration, and dressing them in the "Shady Grove" label art of Toronto artist Elise Conlin. Distributed stateside by Raising Glasses. This Jamaican 5 Year was distilled in 2019 and bottled from a single cask at a formidable 69% ABV — the highest proof in the bottler's Jamaican range, and the youngest, which makes it the purest expression of raw pot still funk in the lineup. Five years in oak lays a foundation of vanilla and light caramel without taming the spirit: expect an explosive nose of overripe banana, pineapple, mango, rotting-fruit hogo, and glue-like esters, opening into a dense, oily palate of tropical fruit, brine, black pepper, and a whisper of wood, finishing long, hot, and unrepentantly funky. Non-chill filtered, no additives, cask number and outturn on the label. Bedford Park's Jamaican selections are its calling card — the Hampden LROK 2000 sits among RumX's highest-rated rums anywhere — and this is the one for drinkers who want that character at full volume. Add water and watch it bloom, or use it sparingly as the funk engine in a Mai Tai or Jet Pilot. When the outturn is gone, it's gone.Buy Bedford Park 5 Year Jamaican Single Barrel Rum online with fast shipping right to your door.
